My Identity

“In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity.” ~Erik Erikson

In today’s ever-changing, diverse, and interconnected world, it is so easy to get lost in the sauce and lose who you are, who you aspire and who you were called to be.

Do you have goals?

When did you set them?

Are they old or new?

Are they in alignment with the current version of you?

Our Identity is the culmination of our memories, experiences, relationships, and values.

It’s our sense of self.

But our identity can keep us anchored to the past, old stories, and truths that don’t align with who we currently are.

Because…

Nostalgia is powerful.

And comfort is King.

But…

“You owe nothing to the past version of yourself.” ~ Sarah Aboulhosn

You owe nothing to the conformative masses.

But you do owe it to yourself to shift and shape your identity and behavior.

You owe it to yourself to blossom and bloom.

You owe it to yourself to shine and bask in your glory.

You owe it to yourself to rise and be free.

So…

Let go of old patterns and ways.

Spend time with yourself.

Be honest with yourself.

Process your thoughts and emotions.

Explore your desires and needs.

Forgive yourself and others.

Because… “You are not defined by your past, your struggles, or your circumstances.” ~ Lynda Dodds

Let go of what is no longer serving you.

Let go of old ideas about who are or should be and explore and create new paths for yourself.

Explore and create a new identity.
